Wellness Sunday
7 Wellness Ideas to Recharge and Reset
I think we can all agree the world can be a stressful place. Eleanor Brown wrote, “you cannot pour from an empty vessel”. Having a wellness plan to recharge and reset is so important for your health.
Our content writer, Marlene, provided us a peek into her Sunday routine. Here are her wellness ideas for a self-care Sunday.
From eating well to managing stress levels, having a wellness plan is about so much more than just physical health. Taking time for yourself to relax and unwind can have a huge impact in how you feel each day. Developing a regular practice of making self-care a priority will help to ensure you can face any situation that comes your way.
Here are some wellness ideas:
1. Wake up early
I wake up around 5:30 a.m. Monday through Friday to start my day, so on the weekend I allow myself an extra hour to sleep in.
2. Enjoy a cup of coffee
I even have a special cup for Sunday coffee. This is a family tradition that started with my Grandma. If you want to avoid the caffeine, make it decaf, or enjoy a cup of herbal tea.
3. Complete household tasks
I like to get things done early so I have the rest of the day to enjoy.
4. Go for a walk
I usually do 3 to 5 miles in the morning depending on the weather. If you haven’t exercised in a while; I recommend starting off slow and doing what fits your lifestyle.
5. Listen to my favorite playlist or motivational podcast
I am currently listening to the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast.
6. Call a loved one
With all the hustle and bustle the work week brings it’s always rewarding to check in with a family member or friend. It can be beneficial to their wellness too.
7. Go to bed early
I call it an early night, so I can be well rested and recharged to start the week.
These are just a few of my wellness ideas. There are many more things you can do to promote self-care Sundays, some include:
- Read a book or magazine
- Write in a journal
- Give yourself an at-home facial
- Watch your favorite movie
- Learn something new
Get creative with your wellness plan – try something new, like yoga or a guided meditation. Whatever it is, find something that brings joy and peace to your life and make it part of your routine. Have a great week!
